Will you come and do a site visit before installation?
Yes. If you are local we will come and carry out a survey of the room and discuss your requirements in person. If you are further afield we ask you to take a number of digital photos then email them to us or burn them to a CD and post it to us. Once we’ve looked at the photos and following further discussion we can provide an outline quote which if within budget we can come and visit your site.
Our building is still in the design stages, can you help?
Yes, we are used to working closely with architects. Usually the earlier we are involved the better the final outcome and cheaper as well, as AV installs are often a last minute consideration and all the electrical supplies required are ‘extras’ on the job which are much costlier than had they been submitted on the original tender.
How long is an installation likely to take?
Most classroom, boardroom or office installations take about 5 hours, a large hall at least a day. For homes it varies – a small bedroom installation of a plasma would usually take a couple of hours, however other rooms may need a day depending on the type of install and whether plasterers would also be required.
There is no power where I want the equipment installed, can you help?
Yes, we work closely with local electrical contractors and can arrange the electrics required.
What are the benefits of installation over hire?
Installing your AV equipment is a long term investment and more cost effective. Plus, the equipment is always available for that impromptu meeting, looks much tidier as cables are concealed rather than running across the floor and staff need only learn to use one type of equipment.
Can I mount my Plasma or LCD on a plaster board wall?
Yes we can mount a Plasma/LCD screen on a plasterboard stud wall or dry lined wall with the correct type of bracket and fixings. We would spread the load over the plasterboard by fixing into metal or wooden studs using a stud locator to locate them. Our brackets have wide footprint to enable us to locate the studs while still maintaining the screen position.
How can wires be hidden in solid brick walls?
There are three options:-
How can wires be hidden in plasterboard wall?
Simple. We cut a hole in the wall behind the screen and then another hole below and pull cables through the holes. Most new buildings are of this type of construction. For external walls, the gap behind the wall would not be enough to pull the wires through and a groove would have to cut into the plasterboard and plastered over once the cables have been laid in the wall.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, we have public liability insurance.
